April 1, 2019 - On Saturday April 13th, TEDxBozeman will bring together 17 of the most thought-provoking speakers from around the Gallatin Valley for TEDxBozeman: Untapped, a community event based on big ideas worth sharing.
Held at The Commons at Baxter and Love, audience members will be challenged and stretched by emotional, heartfelt and humorous talks on subjects that range from edible insects to supporting recovery through immersive technology.
“This is TEDxBozeman’s 8th year, and we’re convinced it’s the best year yet. The caliber of speakers and the topics they are presenting will leave the audience with a sense of hope and a need to take action,” Says Veronika Sieben, Co-Executive Director of TEDxBozeman.
“When you come to TEDxBozeman, listen deep enough that you can be changed by what you hear,” explains Bridget Wilkinson - Executive Director of the Bozeman Community Foundation and this year’s Emcee - of the experience of TEDxBozeman. This year’s speakers are no exception. Audience members should be prepared to stretch their minds and discover new possibilities.
This year’s program features speakers from across the region, including Mary Clare, Ph.D who will speak with her Husband, Gary Ferguson on merging natural and social science in what they call “Full Ecology.” Clare says, “Of course we’re thrilled with the chance to present our ideas with those of so many innovative thinkers. But we’re also new to Bozeman. This experience is only verifying our early impressions. What an innovative, exciting and vital city.”
TEDxBozeman began in 2012 as the first TEDx event in the state. Year after year, the event has grown into a staple in the Bozeman community with over 100 talks and performances taking the stage. “This event is a unique opportunity to not only hear new ideas and perspectives, but to let those ideas change you and give you a renewed sense of purpose and excitement,” Sieben says.
TEDxBozeman takes place on April 13th, 2019 at 10:30 at the Commons. Lunch will be provided by Sadie’s Catering and included in the price of tickets. Tickets are available for purchase on the TEDxBozeman website but often sell out before the event so attendees are encouraged to buy their tickets fast so they won’t miss a minute of thought provoking content.
